Cosmetic Dentistry

If you’ve been told your stained teeth can’t be whitened or you think your teeth are a little crooked, veneers could be the perfect cosmetic treatment for you. At Nabors Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, our services extend beyond keeping your smile healthy. We want you to be proud of it too!

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made casings that cover the front side of your teeth. They are used to correct uneven teeth, worn enamel, discoloration, chipped teeth, and irregular spacing.

After a thorough examination of your teeth, which may include X-rays, your cosmetic dentist will remove a thin layer of enamel. Then they will create an impression and send it off to a laboratory to create the veneer. While the mold is being created, your dentist may provide you with temporary veneers. Finally, the veneer’s size and color are given one last adjustment before they are cemented to your tooth during your second visit.

What Are the Benefits of Veneers?

Veneers can give your teeth a more natural, aesthetically pleasing appearance, and they’re stain resistant. Some other benefits include:

  • Restored confidence
  • Easier brushing and flossing
  • They’re low maintenance

It’s important to note that since enamel is removed during the procedure, the process is not reversible. This enamel loss can also increase sensitivity to hot and cold foods. If you grind your teeth in your sleep, you may be asked to wear a mouthguard when you go to bed. Many people who grind their teeth in their sleep don’t even know it, but your dentist will be able to tell.

Types of Veneers
